About earrings by Sharon Teaman
Earrings are where matching matters most. Two stones that look identical in a parcel can read as noticeably different once they are eighteen inches apart on either side of a face, and the only reliable fix is to match them by hand, in the light they will actually be worn in. Sharon matches every pair herself, and where possible cuts them from the same rough.
The range here runs from small everyday studs to substantial drops. Weight is a real consideration in the larger pieces, and Sharon builds hollow forms and chooses lever backs where a heavy design would otherwise pull.
